CALIFORNIANS MAKE 15,000 CALLS
15,000 calls. 464 volunteers. 38 phone banks from San Francisco to San Diego. The numbers tell the tale: California is committed to ensuring that millionaires and billionaires pay their fair share.
One California volunteer summed up the Day of Action.
“Democracy is not a spectator sport.”
Thanks to their efforts, 2,039 Californians are now committed to demand action from Congress by calling them this week.
Tiffany Allegretti, who organized a phone bank, explained why volunteers are so eager to take action.
“Today’s phonebank was inspiring. After working really hard to help President Obama win a second term, many of us volunteers were anxious to keep working and help the President achieve his legislative goals including ending the Bush era tax cuts. We had folks show up this morning to make calls and do just that.”
Another organizer tweeted a highlight that illustrates the level of commitment demonstrated by activists across the country.
Maybe my fave # – 464 vols across CA came out on a rainy December Saturday to take #TheAction. Still #firedup! #middleclassovermillionaires
